Shinnish Creek and Pennask Lake Wind Farms

Project Description
We provided project planning and estimating services for the transmission line, collector system, substation, and balance of plant construction for the Pennask and Shinish Creek Wind Farms in British Columbia’s Thompson Okanagan region.
BCH has awarded a 40 year Energy Purchase Agreement and the Projects will supply clean, renewable, greenhouse gas-free power to BC Hydro and enough electricity to power approximately 5,000 homes.  

The Pennask Wind Farm is located approximately 44 km west of Kelowna, BC and the Shinish Creek Wind Farm is located approximately 33 km west of Summerland, BC.  Both projects are 15 Megawatt (MW), 5 turbine wind power generation projects which share a substation.  ​
